The SRD Opus X is quickly becoming my go-to soap. It replaces TGQ's Cavendish Black only because TGQ'S isn't readily available. However, the scent is very manly, not overwhelming, and the lather is great. It has taken the #1 spot in my soap rotation from Ogallala Bay Rum. If Cavendish Black were available, it would be very hard, for me, to choose between the two.

Wednesday
The kangaroos are really active at the moment; almost hit another one today on the drive home. Problem is you never know which way they’re going to bounce, apart from backwards; you can count on them not going backwards; just like emus and flies.
Told the wife this arvo we should sell the house, buy a Winnebago and travel around Australia for a year. I’ll wear beads and grow my hair long, except if I did I’d look like Manny in Black Books.
The morning’s shave was short and shiny, as I had to take the wife to work again and she needed to do what she does in there. So one pass only. The Proraso soapcream worked a treat.

Nay, Hyundai or something,. and what's your problem with Fords? I used to have a very spiffy Ford Cortina, 4.2L with a Toploader gearbox, you could drop it back from fourth to first at 60ks and drop the clutch and do a nice little diff lock. I've got a picture of it somewhere, but while I'm looking for it here's a picture of my wedding night car...this was a cool beast...

[EDIT]
Here's the Cortina, sorry for the poor quality, it's a photo of a slide held up to a floor lamp..

Strop MickR's Roo Hide
Soap: Proraso
Razor: Bengall 11/16
Astringent: Thayer's Witch Hazel
Balm: C.O. Bigelow Mentha
A/S: Wahl Bay Rum
Haven't used the Bengall for a while and it performed like a champ, and after a hot day here the Proraso was a great choice.
I also gave a little test shave to another razor tonight, but I might take it back to the stones for a few more laps before having a full shave with it.
More on that later...

Have a great Halloween everyone.
Hope everybody is coping with the carnage caused by Sandy.

No shave today. No power either !!!
Bye Bye, Sandy! The HUGE storm that failed to live up to expectations here in DC (no offense to NYC where I understand she lived up to expectations a bit better), is gone and life is returning to normal. This seemed at my house to be much ado about nothing inasmuch as we never lost power and the only change was that I was pretty much the only person in the office or on the roads for that matter.
Today's shave was a beauty. I reached for the PannaCrema Casablanca, which paired quite nicely with the Thäter to produce a lovely thick and cushioning lather. With the face painted a lovely white, the Flaschner got to do its thing. The growth was smoothly and effortlessly wiped away. I was left CBS in two quick passes. I knew for certain that the lather quality was not just a figment of my imagination when I applied the Lucido. Just a cool menthol blast with zero sting! I wrapped it all up with some Rancé Le Vainqueur, and I'm ready to see my workmates at the office!
