Today, rained last night and the drops are sparkling from the leaf stripped branches. Old razor; lots of work to get past the rusted bevel...worth the effort! Another evening spent with the Zulu hone brought this razor to shave ready. Again a good shave after about 100 laps on leather. DFS in three passes. $3 fru fru from a garage sale was better than its price!

Things are still a bit crazy up here, got my last day at my current job tomorrow and have spent the last two weeks finishing up as much as possible before I leave and at the same time trying to get the guy who takes over my job as much up to speed as possible. Starting my new job on monday, looking forward to it, and hopefully I get some more time on my hands for SRP soon.
This beauty came in from Australia today, a wicked little bastard, it was a b*@#h to strop, but great fun to shave with :D Resulted in a wonderful BBS shave.

Well, I guess I'm in a bit of a mood for crying, so I'm going to post this; some of you have known me long enough to know about Bailey, some not, but I beg the indulgence of you all...
Well, tomorrow is Bailey's fifth birthday. It wasn't that long ago I thought he'd never have one. He's such an incredibly strong man; and very complex actually I think. His mother of course is also strong, but she's got my wife to lean on, as do we all.
Those times spent on the balcony of the hospital singing little songs to take away the pain; the rainbow that came into your hospital room in the afternoons, me pinning you to a bed while they stuck needles in you and you screamed 'please' over and over, the nausea I felt each time I left the hospital; all those memories will remain with me and all are horrible but all made us closer, I think, as grandfather and grandson.
Bailey, I know you'll have a good day tomorrow, because everybody loves you, everybody loves you...
Quick one pass shave, gotta doll up for the company Christmas party later...

Joe

A relatively hasty shave as it was in tempo: getting back from work, finding my freshly ordered NF brush in the mail, go upstairs and shave and quickly back down to go to my company's christmas party. The brush is great. It whipped up lather from a soap that I normally have difficulty with getting good thickness from. So, already a winner. Thanks Peter for this brush and as for the Filly... Well, wow is the word again. Great way to start my weekend.

Thanks Joe, love you guys too; there's always a feeling of mateship here. Bailey's arm is finally starting to knit, he doesn't have to see the bone surgeon again until next April. I think it's important to wear one's heart on one's sleeve, too many people hide their feelings; I don't think it's good to do that.
Thanks guys, I'll let him know. Here he is with his presents this morning...
