Today: Cold and partly sunny -12ºC. The Shave: Nice! I felt like enjoying a real three pass with a touch o' class. The old Johnson, honed so long age, retained its edge and smoothness. The tallow Colgate was a protective winner. The scuttle holds a lot of hot water and is a pleasure to use. The travel brush fits into the well very well. The scales on the Johnson are a later addition. Long ago the shank was reground to make them fit.
All frufru’d up, I am almost ready to face the day!
The fun of trying things makes the day go a bit better and quicker!

LOL Richard! Haven't heard the fru fru expression since the old man passed 25 years ago...
Location: Pearl Harbor, HAWAII
Prep: Hot wet towel compress
Brush: Haryali London Silvertip
Razor: Dubl Duck Satin Wedge (blonde horn)
Soap/Cream: Poraso (sample from The Shave Den)
Scuttle/mug: milk-glass bowl
AS: Cold wet compress/Poraso AS balm (sample from The Shave Den)
strop: SRD 2" nylon/black latigo (30x/60x)
Cologne: Bijan
Result: BBS!
This wedge has a really good edge in the center, but takes a firmer hand out near the toe, or it will filet if it hangs. I've just about decided that spike points are not the best for my face. Maybe if I had to trim around a stache or something, but it's too easy to scratch/cut into the rounder valleys of my features. I can manage it, but a round blade just fits better. The edge is as good as my C-MON since touching up on my Shapton 16K following the last time it came up in the rotation.
Poraso is a good cream and the balm is nice, although the scent is almost nil. I think I like the Musgo Real scent and cream a bit better, but for the sake of other cologne scents that might clash with Musgo, the Poraso is appropriate. Trying a sample of Bijan cologne today; so far, so good, but I'm still holding out for at least two unsolicited compliments before I pull the trigger on a full bottle of any of these high-dollar, movie-star colognes.

Good Shave. Best with the Torrey so far. Something was always a bit off with the edge. Today it was a bit on.
