Saturday
Razor | Mühle R 89 | Cream | Faulding ‘Shave’| After Shave | Tabac
A sort of an old fashioned feel to the shave this morning with the Faulding ‘Shave’ cream and the Tabac after shave. Three passes to absolute perfection. I NEVER do three passes but today I did! Absolutely GDS (Guard Duty Smooth).
I downed a coffee (freshly ground beans ground in an antique Spong grinder) and washed down three fish oil capsules, 1 Glucosamine and two ibuprofen tablets and now I’m ready for indoor bouldering (I think). Might go for a walk to the forest first to limber up a little.
Hope you all have an astonishing weekend.
Carl
Yeah, that would be Portuguese. R's are like an H, kinda. Whereas, ç is like an s, but with a hint of a z to it. But sometimes an R can have a weird dth sound to it. I hope this isn't taken wrong, but many words are pronounced like you are a stroke victim, kinda a slur of the sounds. I was raised around it, too bad I didn't learn it! Like the country, and liquor, Curaçao, it's pronounced KEWR-ə-sow.
'ão' sound is weird. it is like you are pushing it through your nasal while closing off the passages. I really learned Brazilian Portuguese and learned the more twangy version of it. I was in the mountains of Santa Catarina so it was sort of like the West Virginia of Brazil. Lot's of Germans and Italians. They drank a lot of chimarrão and wine. Mas que babaridade! Vamos cai na gandaia!
My sister is going to Portugal shortly, and she asked what I'd like her to bring back for me. I said Musgo Real (you probably need to say it an an Australian accent). I may need to contact her re. the pronunciation just so the local don't fall around laughing too much....
kinda been slacking off on the shaves the last few days .. think i was on 3-4 days growth , been busy around the house with warm weather chores and sneaking in some night fishing for catfish !! the big cats are still sluggish but it didnt keep the little ones off the line !! All that was topped off by a wonderful shave tonight with a little shave partner though !!!
pre= shower
soap= Mikes Lemongrass Eucalyptus
brush= black badger / Batman synthetic
razor(s)
1) Torrey wedge
2) Gilletter Contract Tech
3) Red-Imp 132 wedge
4) Batman Super Safe Safety Razor
results= i had planned on using both straights but the Torrey has impressed me ever since it came off the hones and it didnt let me down this time !! started with it and couldnt stop so perhaps the Imp will get its turn next time !! i finished with a ATG pass with the Tech ..
The Batman razor must be a good shaver also cause my partner ended up with BBS after one pass WTG ... maybe next time ill use that one :)

Pre : Hot water, Proraso pre-post cream
Soap : Arko stick
Brush : Turkish "No.6"
Razor : Gillette Superspeed flare tip
Blade : Personna
Post : Nivea moisturising balm
Finish : BBS
Comments :
The Arko stick has redeemed itself. There were no problems with lather this time. It just needs grating into a bowl, as I'm finding stick soaps much more awkward to lather up.

Proraso|G5|Mtn.Badger|Tabac|Invicta 6/8|Tabac AS|Iggy's BalmA Great relaxing Saturday! Honed a few razors this morning, the Invicta was good the last time I shaved, but I thought the edge could be pushed a bit further. 4/8 Norton, 12k Nani, and stropped on leather, what a sweet sweet shave!

Hot Shower, C.V. Heljestrand Mk4, VDH Boar, Mitchell's Wool Fat, Aqua Velva Classic, CK Obsession, Stache Bomb
With work and school, I always seem to be late for something. As a result I find myself picking up a DE more and more often. There's nothing wrong with that and they deliver a fine shave. However, a multiple pass shave with a good sharp straight razor, like this one, is just plain tough to beat.
SATURDAYThank you to those that enjoy the varied shaving items. All I can do is find, restore, and pass them onward to future hopefully non-radioactive generations.
Thank you all for a week of nice photos, good ideas, and friendship!

The day? Bright and 0ºC. The Shave? A pleasant shave in two and a touch-up. The Euro Nivea can make for a very good shave! Granny Juice is well...Granny Juice!
The fun of trying things makes the day go a bit better and quicker!

Wow! That's a beauty of a brush, Geezer. Did you re-knot it yourself? I've had an Ever Ready brush I've been meaning to re-knot for years. I may just make it a badger (even though we don't need no steenking badgers).
