The Hart razor should be arriving today so I can provide a little more diversity in my hardware.
QUOTE]
Hey, I have a Hart razor coming in today too! I do plan on giving it a go tomorrow.
Prep: Hot Shower
Razor: Wheat Sheaf Cutlery Company, Sheffield, near wedge
Brush: AOS Fine Badger
Cream: AOS Sandalwood
A/S: Pinaud Clubman
Result: I sold all my vintage razors except for this one. So, I am down to five razors with a couple on the way. I am still not clear on the history of Wheat Sheaf Cutlery Company, and I am not sure they were somehow connected to the Wheately Brothers. Well, nevertheless, this blade is typical nice Sheffield steel that makes for a great shaver!
This AOS tub of cream was the first shaving cream I have ever used, and it's still my favorite cream. I do prefer soaps, so I am not sure what I will do when it's gone, except that I know I'll still be shaving and living life, at least I hope!

Hey Gents,
Late getting a pic for this post. After a little effort I came up with something. eTom this is mostly for you.
Heljestrand No. 4 and usual goatsmilk soap.
Great shave as usual with swedish steel.
Best wishes to all.

This razor arrived from Maggard Razors today and I have to say I'm really pleased with it. It has a nice long handle, there's some good weight to it, and the handle is very grippy. Best of all, I got a great shave with it. :)

Pre : Hot water, Kiehls facial fuel wash, Proraso pre-post cream
Soap : Mitchell's Wool Fat
Brush : Turkish "No.6"
Razor : Gillette old type
Blade : Derby
Post : Proraso pre-post cream, cold water, Nivea moisturising balm
Finish : BBS
Comments :
This razor's definitely aggressive. I've conceded the fact that it's not a "rare 7'O'Clock", the pins on it just don't match the pattern the "7'O'Clock" razors had. Nevertheless, I'm more than happy with it. If only I could put a date to it, but without a serial number or letter it's being difficult.
PREP - Lathered face and hit the strop, re-lathered before i shaved ( seems to work well )
STROP - SRD Modular Paddle
SOAP - Mikes / Pine & Cedarwood
RAZOR - Ali's Blade / Tactical Damas 9/8
Always a pleasure using this razor, two passes and i was happy.
I started with an ATG on the neck and only needed a clean up on the 2nd pass WTG.

It was a rough day yesterday. It was also pretty warm. I opted for my grandfathers old razor, some Bigelow, and some Mitchum cool shock AS.

A very nice and relaxing shave. Off to work in the garden now. It's a good day for that. Not too sunny, not too windy, not too cold.

PRE-SHAVE POST
This 7/8 Hart with Bocote scales was delivered yesterday, so I am going to shave with it later today, as is. Looks good so far, but I'll see what type of edge the artisan put on this blade. I usually use Williams Mug Shaving Soap when I use a razor for the first time, not sure why, but I may go with something else today. Some of you may know I have a 6/8 Hart with Cocobolo scales that I have bee using for over a year, and it is one of the finest shavers I have used. I expect this 7/8 will be just as good. Have a good Thursday!

The Day?..About 8 inches/25CM of partly cloudy fell overnight and continues. Good day for a straight shave. The little GoldBug just keeps improving. Nice slow shave and a pleasure to have enjoyed! A nice home roasted Bolivian coffee as a double latte begins the morn well.

Here's my shave:
Prep: Hot Shower after 25 mile bike ride into the foothills
Razor: Hart 7/8, Bocote Scales
Strop: none
Brush: AOS Fine Badger
Cream: Spencer & Devon Sagebrush
A/S: Master Bay Rum
Result: I know I'm double posting today, but the earlier post was not about today's shave, this one is. I am glab I picked up this razor. I learned that, for me, having $$ in a paypal account from razors I sold on ebay is like Monoploy money. I purchased two new razors that I probably would not have otherwise purchased, and I still have a small balance in the account. Anyhow, this razor is great, but the edge is not quite dialed in. It feels confortable WGT, but had some trouble AGT, like in the mustache area. So I'll get it dialed in Saturday morning. Had to do the same with the other Hart I purchased over a year ago. I was a rookie then, and I wore the heck out of the spine, but it's still a top notch shaver. I also had to touch up the Robert Williams razor I recently received, and it too shaves like a dream.
Have a great Thursday!

Thanks,
Cedric is probably my favorite overall custom maker.
He certainly makes big and unusual razors.
The only problem I find, is either not having ready cash to buy one or I haven't checked his site frequently enough and missed out on one I really like.
Cheers,
Paul
