I love it when a plan comes together! New razor Bill?

Yeppers, I've been bleeding for this hobby. I just don't photograph all my nicks and cuts for the "cut of the day" thread. So now I get to show up at work with a Scooby Doo band-aid on my finger and unpolished boots (ankle cut work boots, they're more comfortable than dress shoes and look just as good when polished).
Nope, shall not stray again - at least, not until the next time.
Obviously didn't have my eyes open yet for this mornings shave pic :)

Day one of a week-long "Get to know the MWF" sesh, and the damn stuff behaves as expected. No thin and watery bubbles, just meringue-thick lather. Typical. There's another four days to go though, so anything can happen... and it probably will too.
Did someone mention a "supermoon"? It's hard to believe I was the only loony on the windy beach, trying hard to get any perspective on this phenomena.

I don't usually shave everyday, but during a rare few hours of boredom I decided to have a multiple stropping session with some of my razors, well after stropping the big bad ass Filly I just couldn't resist, so the Filly and I set off hand in hand for the bathroom, well what can I say this razor is without doubt not only a looker but my God does she shave superbly, I rarely hold or place any items or objects I own into a bracket of being to precious to use or even sell, but this is one razor that I would never sell or part company with.

Bartmann No 86 razor - L'Occitane CADE sc - Barbershop badger brush - cold water splash - Truefitt & Hill 1805 asb - shower - Penhaligon's Eau de Verveine EdT
Tweaked the edge today to my liking. Started with a slurry coticule, diluted and finally only water. Then on to the slurry Thuringian stone, diluted and finished with water. About 40 laps on red, another 40 or so on bare leather and time to test my abilities. A shave for the books. The edge is fantastic. I had high hopes for this razor and am pleased to say that it lives up to its expectations. A shaver just as fine as my Fillies, my 14's and even my Belgian cleaver. This one is bound to stay with me for quite a while. :)

Prep: Hot Water Wash
Razor: Friedmann and Lauterjung Electric
Brush: VDH Boar
Soap: Mitchell's Wool Fat
AS: Skin Bracer
Finish: Lapidus Pour Homme
I'll probably never be a died in the wool night shaver but I have to admit it was pretty enjoyable so I'll probably toy with it for a bit. Tunes: Night Ranger- Sister Christian (night shave bonus). This electric must be solar powered, I've had it for years and never once plugged it in or charged it. Come to think of it, I don't think I've ever seen an On switch.

I live in an old farm house that was built in 1860, no A/C, so the cold water filled scuttle after a nice warm shower is refreshing. The Kropp is fresh off of a touch up on the 12k Naniwa and it is superb yet again. The nice round point and slight smile make this razor very forgiving. Smooth and fresh in 3!

Comments :
Day two, and the MWF is still behaving itself. I'll give the Turkish "No.6" a go tomorrow, I think. The Semogue certainly likes MWF.
They just keep getting better and better:
Thank you! Simple and very effective! :)
I tried to start, sometime ago in this forum, a thread on homemaking about products for shaving. Unfortunately no one participated to the thread. It would be great if we all could share recipes and comments about shaving products homemaking.
I like making shaving soaps and creams, also because I like experimenting and, of course, for the satisfaction of using something I personally made. Of course, I understand there are better products, anyway, I am very happy with the results I get. :)
And you should've seen the looks I got from shop staff when I asked about the items. Bewilderment from the staff when I mentioned I was planning to make my own a/s balm, and terror when I asked another shopworker about witch hazel.
I considered making my own soaps, but after researching both processes, I decided to leave that idea alone.

Hot water prep
Black Beauty 1969 razor - Astra blade - Cyril Salter travel badger brush - MWF - cold water splash - Thayer's witch hazel rose re-splash - Floid asb - hot towel - Acca Kappa muschio bianco AdC
A quick one pass ATG with the DE. The strangest thing. I think the Astra blades aren't wide enough... I had the razor set to "9", which is the highest possible and still, even when really pushing it to my skin, I didn't take off a whole lot of stubble. So, not BBS oddly enough, but still a nice shave. I think I'll try this blade again with the toggle razor someday and if the result is the same, then the Astra blades will not stay...
Celticcrusader: Truly one of the most beautiful razors I have ever seen. Really kind of hypnotic since I can't seem to stop coming back to look at it.....a class all of its own. Thanks for the SOTD, and thanks to all of those who post and give this fine pursuit the respect it deserves.

In itself a good shave. However, inappropriate for this day. I thought of summer. It should be summer. But it is cloudy, rainy and cold. I should use my fall scents, such as Sandalwood and patchouli.
Have a nice day!
