Soak in vinegar for two hours, then use toothpaste to get the rest of the gunk loose and then wash with dish soap and rinse very well! All there is to it! Polish if you want to!

From time to time you see Ultrasonic cleaners in favor on theses sites. About a year ago they seemed all the rage. Yes, I went and bought one. And yes, yet to use it. Mainly because I haven't bought a razor that would need it yet.
And one here with experience with them?? And would it work on this razor?
Thanks Richard. You too Grazor.
I will do this soon. I needed someplace to start ! Probably won't polish right away but I do want it clean and I hope Mic is right about the doors.
Mic and Ed I enjoy the show really and I know the blade argument is never ending and I hope to add to that soon enough. Believe me if I have an opinion it will be the right one :<0)
Johnus I thought those things were for cleaning and saving blades with etch. For the most part anyway. Like you I have no need for one and I avoid razors with etch like the plague now.
any updates 10pups? I am also going to give the DE game a try and have been following this thread :)
p.s. I only have one duck and regardless of how well the DE goes, its staying! :rofl2:
Chris
Okay after using Geezer's cleaning method I put them on the shelf for the next day.
Side note... Anybody else enjoy the pickle peppermint flavor while brushing your teeth ?
I made my usual first pass with a straight but then picked up the DE with the doors. It went well except the razor seems to hold the blade more to one side. I used that side the whole face. Next day same thing, I opened it up and messed with it some but I was in a hurry so I just went for it. After the usual straight pass of course. I may have used a little more pressure this time as the aftershave burned more than it has in a long time. I know it's not the blade because the first shave was fine and these blades are hands down the best. Very pricey but I had to try them out.

What did you think? I was going to use something other than my brand :<0)
Hahaha! too funny!!

I was a bit apprehensive when he held his thumb up, I was expecting him to show how sharp the blade was on it. I just ordered 100 blades so I should be good for several years.
100 Duck blades ???? There that good but I would have bought a small car instead.
You and yer bloomin ducks, nah I got astras, mick sent me some to try and I liked them so I bought more, the problem with eBay is that the more you buy the cheaper they are, $10 for 50, 13 for 100, $22 for 200 etc.
I nearly bought 200, until I realised that I was saving about 2c per blade, they only cost 13c each anyway, and 100 probably will last me an age.
The packaging and shipping cost more than the blades. This is true with a lot of products.
