ATT razors aren't cheap. Any reason you're looking at ATT for, what sounds like, your first DE razor?

FYI: there's a fundamental difference between open-comb and regular safety razors and a quick search will show you the obvious difference. I don't own any of the ATT razors so can't comment how any of the difference relate to each other.

+1. If you've got the cash, buy what you want. But there is a difference between open comb and solid bar or closed comb safety razors. They might be exactly what you want, or not. A quick look at their site shows they sell both open and closed comb. If I were to advise you, I'd suggest starting out with a closed comb. YMMV.
I would recommend you check out the classifieds here, as well as places like Ebay, antique stores, flea markets, etc., and find an old Gillette Super Speed. They are great, fairly mild razors, and for far less than you're thinking of spending you could find a pretty much pristine example that will shave your face incredibly well for decades to come. Spend the extra cash you save on a really nice brush and some great quality soaps or creams.
    MHO.

The main difference is that the different numbers refer to how mild or aggressive the shave will be. All the heads are slightly different in that the the blade exposure is greater as the aggressiveness increases. You can purchase a 5 piece ATT set 3 different heads and 2 handles of different length/weight.
The are quality but as others have said a little on the expensive side. I'd personally opt for an Edwin Jagger DE89 or a Weber. Also make sure you get a large selection of blades so that you can try different ones until you find one that suits you and the razor.

Above the Tie makes fantastic safety razors, albeit expensive ones. I settled on an Atlas H2 after trying and then selling an R1. The difference between the Atlas model and the Kronos is the length and thus weight of the handle is increased on the latter model. I find the difference (given equivalent head geometry and weight) between Open and Closed combs to be just a matter of taste, the OC is not patently more aggressive, as I hear sometimes. But it clogs less if you are mowing down alot of stubble ..

The other difference as has been pointed out in other responses is in the blade exposure. Some like them milder (generally light bearded) others need them to have more exposure and blade aggression to deal with thicker/tougher beards. Until you've tried a couple razors in either category you won't really know which you prefer or require.

My 2 ¢ would be to try some less expensive vintage Gillettes in each category, once you figure it out you can select the appropriate ATT. It doesn't make sense to me to buy a bunch of similar handles/heads of the same brand when you will eventually find only one hits the sweet spot for your face
