Default I want to Get Into it.

I have not purchased my first razor yet. With anything the amount of info is astounding and a bit overwhelming. I remember as a child my dad using a Wilkson sword DE Safety. I tried it once.... it did not bode well. But as with anything...time put in results will happen and i am up for a challenge.

I know there is a classified ad here but for me i am not too keen on used shaving equipment. nothing personal. So new is for me. But I am looking for something in the 20-30 dollar range for a handle preferable a longer one the better ( i can upgrade later). Blades is where I am at even more of a loss. I tend let my facial hair to grow a week at a time so I need a bit of a aggressive set up. any and all help would be stellar.

I was looking at this one.

Welcome , I got the Merk 34 C a couple weeks ago , wish I would have years ago. Save a few bucks and order a shaving kit , you will be money ahead never buying disposable razors for the rest of your life, your grand kids will have it when your gone

Hmmm, that looks suspiciously like the Merkur 38C, pretty much a direct copy. Though I can't speak for the model in the picture I do happen to have the Merkur and it is a fantastic razor, very well made and I wouldn't hesitate to recommend it (and often do). Unfortunately it is out of your price range, especially considering the prices have risen dramatically over the last few years.

I do have an older Parker and while it is functional the quality is nowhere near that of Merkur. The razor above may be okay but IMO you should save up for something else.

My Parker, albeit a different model, is a solid but aggressive razor. My every day DE razor is an Edwin Jagger DE89 and love it. Neither have any issue cutting down multiple day growth. They're nothing like your typical cartridge razor.

I find the Astra blades work well in most of my razors. The Astras are cheap and and readily available online. My beard is coarse and fairly thick for reference.
