sounds like a good go to me! I have not any of the razors in the pic. There were thrown in the package with the razors as a freebie. I picked up all of that shipped from the UK for 25usd. Met a lot of really nice people on some of the facebook pages. On one what we are doing is just blade swap outs. people list what they have and trade out what they want usally 3 at a time. cost is a whole stamp. I am going to use the astras in both razors first then try others. Itching to try the feathers.

I like the astra blue pack but the green doesn't do much for me. Shaved all DE today with the hd an feather blade. Not sure where you are in your DE journey dema, but if you are getting great irritation free shaves then grab a pack of feathers an try them. They are the SHARPEST I have found. Great blades but don't over do it.

    SOTN:

    Pre:Shower/Noxzema
    Cream: CO Bigelo
    Razor: Parker 22R
    Blade: Astra
    Brush: Omega Synthetic
    After Shave: Pinuad Clubman
    Oh and...ROLL TIDE!

So the 22R is not as aggressive as the 90R. I had some neck irritation due to an added pass which i did not have to do with the 90R But I still loved the shave! It was DFS. I have come to the realization that I like soaps a lot more than creams. I can get them thicker and manipulate them a little better AND I get less cuts.

Rollin coal: I have not tried the feathers as of yet. I am kinda worried about them. I am one of those who cant have it TOO sharp. or I F up my face. My technique is getting better but not great yet. LOL its good for me but to others it would be an abomination.

In due time man. I just started using them myself for the same reasons you are shying away. At least you are making the effort to get it right an try products to find what works for you. Now for the BAMA background...... GO VOLS! LOL.

    Shave of the day:
    Pre-Shave Shower/Noxzema
Razor: my new Parker 90R Feather Blade
Soap: Arko smashed in a bowl
    AS/Pinaud Clubman

So I did it. Shaved with a Feather. OMFG this is the best shave I have gotten so far! Even though I did nick myself twice once real good(mole) It was just short of epic. The blade is SHARP.SHARP SHARP! the shave was comfortable even with an aggressive razor as the 90R. which is becoming a fast favorite of mine. I will be looking for a 100ct of them in the future. The main thing i found is that you have to keep the blade in mind. With the astra I can just kinda shave and not really worry about it. It is very forgiving to me. The feather demands attention or it grabs it. Your technique has to be good or at least proficient. I would not recommended it for the first ten shaves. You will be giving blood. But Rollincoal...just try it its worth it.

Dema I have been using them. Totally agree they demand some respect but the shave is worth it! Only issue I have had with the feather DE blades is a fast decline in sharpness. First shave is epic. Then just down hill the next couple uses. I have coarse hair under my jawline which may be causing the issue. Either way they are the best I have used in a DE so far. I have been over the past few weeks mainly sticking with my straights. The last few shaves have been experimenting with the Feather SS razor an different feather blades. Talk about amazing! Back on topic, glad you gave the feathers a shot. An glad your shaves are improving. Its a great feeling to go all day an just be able to feel what a great shave you got.

I usually don't stretch my skin when de shaving, however I do contort my face to tighten the area being shaved.

My stretching technique with a DE is a bit different than with straights. I do still stretch the same areas, but find the jawline takes a bit different stretching to get BBS than what it does with a straight shave. As far as the face contorting I seem to do more of that with straights than DE's. There again its all about finding whats best for you an improving on it. Always seems to be something to learn.

    SOTD!

    Razor:Parker 90R /Astra
    Brush: Omega Synthetic
    Soap: Arko
    Pre-Shave Shower
Post-Shave Pinuad Clubman and a good whipping of the styptic.

So Was the first time shaving my head with a De. It was going well until I hit a patch on the back of my neck. ouch. then a few more nicks not to bad and that same damn spot I always get. even when I used a cart so I was not surprised. It was a bit tedious but i enjoyed it. feels weird being bald again after a year of not doing it. The Parker 90R was nice but the astra began to crap out on me and the end of the first pass on my face. I will be doing this again.

Man if its been a year since you shaved your head its going to take a bit to get back at it. I have been head shaving since late 90's an cant imagine growing hair for more than 3-4 days. Drives me nuts. DE is a great shave though. Shaved Friday with a super speed an astra platinum blade. Good shave. An like you I have a spot on the back of my head that takes extreme care to not nick. Keep at it looks smooth.
