Wow what a great shave. I am a bit tired and let my technique slip a little and boy did i tighten up quick. I find them to be on par with feather. i dont know is one is better or not but at least equal. I would buy more of these in a heartbeat.

So it has been a good minute since I have logged in. I am still using the same parker razors and brush bowl and soap combo. I have found that the simpleness of arko is fine for me at the moment and that the CO bigalo is nice for a change every once and a while( seeings i have 4 tubes of the stuff). But I have moved away from the astra well trying to at least (I still have like 80 of them) to Feather. I have gotten used to the sharpness and have really fallen in love with them. I have become kind of a snob in the way I guess is that I only use a blade once and toss them. I mean really for a hundred of feathers is under 30 dollars. I would spend that much on like 4 carts So still the cost of them is acceptable. What I really need is a new brush. I love my omega but I would just like something nicer. My razors are newer models and the weight is good and are attractive. All and all I love de shaving and yes I still cut myself from time to time but it is becoming less and less.

Well after a long while I broke out an astra and gave it a ride. WOW what a difference in shave. In a negative kinda way. the quality that i thought was there in the beginning is just lacking compared to the feathers. I still had an ok shave but i just had more weepers than usual

    Shower
    Prep: Hot washcloth face soak
Lather: Omega Boar or Vie Long Horse hair, Cella Croap, let set while brush teeth and comb my balding hair
Razor & Blade: Weber PH or Gillette Slim Adj. @6-7, Personna Reds or Crystal blades (sometime assortment of Gillette razors and different blades)
Post: Cold face rinse, Clubman Bay Rum, Home made bay rum, Old Spice
I guess I've gotten fussy in my old age , years ago while working it was a quick face soak, Williams or VDH puck with an old boar brush, Gillette razor and blade and a splash of old spice. Now I can look forward to my morning shave.
With a 2 pass shave and touch up for BBS, I do at times find a need to stretch the skin especially around the chin and jaw line. I have found that slow, unhurried passes with the razor gives best results. Also in those tough spots, angling the razor so it acts like a Slant razor (an old trick I learned from Dad)
