In less than 4 years. What would be a good replacement?
I guess I'd like to get a vintage TTO?
What should I be looking for and at what price range for something that will last?
Thanks!

Was that a failure under normal use like broke when simply tightening... Or, was it an impact/drop? Bummer! However, if under normal circumstances, would it be covered under a Warranty? Just brainstorming as it wasn't a frilly piece of metal that broke but rather the main rod so wonder if they'd cover that. ??
I have been keeping track of Gillette Fatboys on eBay and there are a LOT of people out there looking and buying for sure. There is a Gillette Slim adjustable TTO in the Classifieds now.

Shoki. I would send the razor back to the manufacturer for repairs. This failure should never happen. A bummer!
Send them an email.
If you liked it a lot: I have heard the Weber stainless is very similar but far more robust.
I agree with the others on seeing if it is covered under manufactures warranty. If you are wanting a TTO its hard to beat the vintage gillettes. There was several models produced so availability is good. They obviously last forever as most were made at least 40-50 years ago or more. I pick most of mine up on the bay. Clean, polish, Disinfect an shave. Several models I own that are great are the Superspeed, Slim, Red tip flare. All fantastic. Good luck an keep us posted.
The head on those EJ's are pot metal. Still, you should be able to contact the vendor and see if they will replace it. I highly recommend a Slim for your first Gillette TTO. The 40's Style, Flare Tip, and Red Tip Super Speeds are also good choices.
Thanks Everybody!
This razor has probably been dropped once or twice in a fiberglass shower. Nothing that seemed like a damaging drop. I was replacing a the blade and as I tightened the handle it gave a little and then twisted right off. The metal looks porous so I don't know if it was poured wrong or what the deal is.
I wrote them an email at Edwin Jagger - Contact Information and got an automated response that they will get back to me as soon as possible.
I'll look into some of those replacement ideas.
Thanks again,

Unless you got it direct from EJ, I would also contact your vendor. Best of luck.
I bought it from Amazon. I don't think they will do anything after this long but I'll give them a try.

edit:
I called Amazon and the customer service guy was happy to offer me a refund or replacement. After a bit of processing he comes back on the line and says this item is nearly 4-years old and the system wouldn't let him process a refund or replacement.
He did however offer me $15 store credit. I think that's pretty good.
I was able to get the threads out of the handle so all I need it a new head piece. Whatever that piece is called.
