Default Valet single edge up and running

Seeing i am a fan of the Gem single edge blade, used in conjunction with one of my favorite shavers, the 1929 Gem Micromatic, i wanted to see if i could incorporate it with a Valet, the model where you are able to "slide" the blade in sideways.

All i had to do is wiggle the spine off (holding with pliers) and it came apart easily.
    No need for further modifications.......
The blade slid in nice and snug........ looking forward to my first shave with a Valet.

Very clever. I hope the shave is everything you are hoping for. I do like my Gem SE, and the Gem blades.

    Follow up shave.....

The open comb had me concerned that it could be very aggressive so a Gillette Fat Boy was placed within easy reach for backup in the event blood spilling were to occur.
This razor is rather light weight with a short handle so the shave started off rather tentatively but after a few strokes became more comfortable in my large hands.
All in all the razor gave a fairly close shave with no blood letting.
I will definitely use this razor again with the Gem blade.

    Good on you!!
I have used mine with GEM ND also the Feather blades. Good shaves when I kept the head almost flat to my face.
