Travel question

Started with DE safety shaving recently...Where do you guys buy DE blades when traveling? I don't typically check a bag for work travel - prefer not to start for just a couple blades - and haven't noticed small packs of replacement blades in the big brand shops (cvs, rite aid etc). Am I just not looking in the right aisle?

There are DE blades in many large drug stores in Canada and a few of the grocery chains. I would expect that you would find them in a few of the same spots in the US. Wilkinson Sword is the brand I see often. They can be a little dear at Shoppers Drugmart here, but if your choice is between overpriced blades and a checked bag you will have to choose.

Some DE shavers resort to mailing blades ahead to the hotel they are staying in.
If you were to mail a single blade you would need to be careful to prevent injury to postal workers and pack the blade (e.g. with cardboard) accordingly.


To avoid needless questions at airport security checkpoints, I carry my three piece razor disassembled (usually in my electric toothbrush travel case).
If it doesn't show the classic DE razor "T"-shape on the scanner, you are much less likely being asked to open you bag.

I have seen them at Walgreens, Walmart and target. They are usually stuck to the front of big cardboard sheets near the cartridges

.....or, if you are not checking baggage and don't want to drive around looking for blades, you can just get a Gillette Guard to use with you travel soap and brush.

I've been lucky , with my razor broke down into 3 pieces and the blades in their container in my travel dopp bag so far so good , but when I started taking my feather razor I just pack my bag or mail it to the hotel, cost me a 4.80 both ways Tc
