How do you take care of a safety razor after a shave?
Hi, i remove the blade and rinse razor and blade. then i strop with a tovel to remove moisture. Than left it in its stand till next shave. i always store blade away
Give it a final rinse under running water, shake the excess off and put away to dry. When I notice it getting ugly I remove the blade and give it a thorough cleaning. Lately I have been using no bleach Scrubbing Bubbles and a soft tooth brush for that.

I wipe everything down when I'm done. I usually use a 3 piece but sometimes an adjustable Fat boy. All pieces including the blade gets wiped down dry, put back together and put in a stand. My adjustable I dry with a towel and blast the rest of the water out with a computer air duster.
I set the razor on the counter, and ever so carefully, walk away. This protocol has worked for years.
For the three piece units I partially unscrew it rinse it well and leave it to dry.
Rinse it after each shave,,,, when the blade is ready to be changed, I use the liquid hand soap that on the sink & a soft toothbrush to clean it & let it stay open until I decide to use it again.
Alex7,
+1 to the previous posts.
Like, Hirlau, I clean the razor when changing blades.
The easiest way is to spray the disembled razor with a gentle bathroom cleaner (I use CIF - anything that says it removes 'soap scum'), leave to soak for a few minutes, then scrub with an old tooth brush, rinse with hot water and dry.
Have fun :)

I thoroughly clean the razor and give the blade a careful wipe each time. The reason I do this is that I only use a DE about once every 3 weeks. If I was using it as a daily shaver I would probably do as PhatMan said and leave the full clean to blade change time - just do a rinse and dry each use.
With a three piece, I rinse it off and just towel dry it being careful not to contact the blade. With a TTO I rinse it off, remove the blade, towel dry the razor, put the blade back in, and put it in the cabinet. I don't like to contact the blade any more than necessary. When the blade is changed (5-7 days), I rinse and clean them with Scrubbing Bubbles (non-bleach version) and a toothbrush.
