I bought an already replated beautiful New LC from Nick at sportshaving.com in October and after a few weeks use it still looks as good as the day it arrived. I wouldn't hesitate to have a razor professionally replated if you like the look.Quote:

I,m pretty sure that there's a little more to plating a razor , he has to dismantle , clean and then after several steps of plating , they have to go back together. For what he charges , it money well spent . Especially with a razor that you have had for a long time, Tc
I agree, there's a lot more to it. I'm sure a big part of the job is polishing the metal befor plating. And gold razors are usually plated with nickel first. I don't think the they are usually disassembled for plating though. That gold looks great!Quote:
