    Question Next DE Blades?

Gents, do you have some recommendations for my next DE blades. I have tried Dorco, Personna Platinum, Astra, and Polsilver. I am leaning toward Gillette 7 o'clock (yellow) or Silver Blue. Which ones do feel are smoother? or do you have another razor that you feel is better?

The Silver Blue's are awesome...I purchased those and some Platinum's, both are excellent, but I find the Silver Blue's provide a superior, sharp but buttery shave.

    Leatherstocking,
Give Perma Sharp Super a try.
I don't know how many blade brands I have tried through the year before settling down with: Feather, Super Iridium (I still have a few left), Polsiver Iridium, Gillette 7 O'Clock SharpEdge (yellows), Perma Sharp Super and Red Personna. All good stuff.

Personna surgical blades or Feather. Nothing to be afraid of if you pay attention to your technique.

I can whole-heartedly recommend the Gillette 7'clock Sharp-Edge (yellow pack). I've tried the Astras and I'm not a big fan. I used to be a Feather guy, but since I've tried the Gillette Sharp Edges, I've been much happier. In my opinion, the Gillettes are every bit as sharp as feather, but much "smoother/softer" if that makes any sense?

I ended up going with the Gillette Silver Blue and Perma Sharp Super.
About an hour ago I received an email that my order had already shipped.
    Thanks for your suggestions, gentlemen.

Funny - those are my two favorites as well. The Feather is a "second shave and on" blade for me. They are so sharp, that first shave is a bit keen... but after that - oh my - the hight of DE shaving for me lol.

The Personna Reds are what I figure the most balanced of the ones I have tried. When traveling (shorter trips) I always pack them because I'll never get a "too keen" shave with them + they do a great job.

That said - both blades see me have to shave every day. My DE's just don't get me as close as my straights. And that includes my newly acquired feather assist .

Don't get me wrong - when busy, a quick DE shave in the shower is a life-saver for me when I sleep in lol.

Anyway... Good luck Leatherstockiings!! I know that back in the day when I was trying to "discover" the blade for me, I got a little frustrated. Especially with one brand lol. The first shave felt like I was ripping my face off. Thought it would calm down on the second shave - nope. So I gave a fresh blade a try. Dude that's three shaves I'll never get back lol - man it was awful. But that's also why I am so passionate/pleased about those two blades referred to above. I really am loyal to those two now. You'll find yours.

IMO,,, Feather leads everyone I have tried so far.

Some will not like this suggestion, but,, Sharks are my favorite, next to Feathers. Sharks are really cheap & in my vintage Gillettes, really do a nice job for me.
