    Default Gillette Platinum Plus

I bought some old Gillette Platinum Plus blades at an estate sale, but they don't seam to fit my Maggards DE. The blades only have a hole in the middle and a slot the length of the blade. My head has a threaded post in the center, and one on each side of it. Is there a way to make these work? I have a dremel, so I could open up the slot the fit. I didn't pay much for them, so I wont be too hart broken if I have to toss them. Are these blades for a specific razor? I kinda thought all blades fit all razors.

I know they fit Gillette razors from the '60s and earlier. Pretty sure they fit all of the 'modern' razors I have, Merkur, Barbasol, Apollo, among others. Post a photo ?

Be careful how you treat people on your way up, you may meet them again on your way back down.

why not just sit a modern blade on top to see what needs changing, I wouldn't want to be anywhere near a D/E blade that shattered whilst it was being dremeled though, and besides modern blades are pretty cheap.

Sounds like it's meant for TTO razors like the slim, and not 3 piece razors. Just compared my slim and my Maggard and the required slots are indeed different. I just never noticed since my red IPs fit both

I would put them in barbicide, just because I would rather error on the side of causation

To chuck these blades would be one of the biggest mistakes a DE wetshaver could make. Gillette Platinum Plus blades are my all time favorite (I'm using one right now in my Fatboy). Get a vintage Slim and indulge yourself.

Great I have a reason to get a new razor. Can't wait to have this conversation with the wife; Why did you buy another razor? I needed it to fit the blades I spent a dollar on.

They were one of my favorite blades.
As for buying a new razor, they should work fabulously in a Super Speed or Tech. $15 will snag a good example of either one of those. Wifey shouldn't complain too much about that. Not too much, anyway.
