Life is too short to use sub-par blades. I just stay away from "Store" blades.

    YMMV.............

I saw some at my local and was shocked at the price. They had them priced similar to cartridge blades. I could buy 100 blades for what they wanted for just a few. In any case, if you haven't tried Kai you should. They are a tad less sharp than Feather and slightly heavier gauge of steel. I find them to be the perfect balance. But DE blades are highly personal and my favorite might very well be you least.

I am pretty sure the generic blades sold by Walgreens, Rite Aid, CVS and A&P are made by the Personna factory, I have used them on occasion and are decent nothing special but worked much better than my experience with say Merkur blades which i thought frankly stunk. Wilkinson Sword Classic is readily available and if I need a pack that bad will buy those.

Here in rural Maine, Walmart doesn't sell DE blades any more, the only place to get store brand are Rite aide or Family Dollar and at these stores only recently. the blades at these stores are most likely Dorcos or what ever blades are made in S. Korea I find that they are not consistent. one pack may shave great and the next bad. I do shave with Personna Reds or Astra SP and these store brands are no match.

I use mostly Israeli Personna and Feather blades, but recently got a "deal" on some Gillette Black "Super Platinum" blades and they are THE WORST BLADES I've ever touched to my face, other than Merkur, which also stunk.

I realize everyone's face is different, but I've shaved with just about everything and these Gillette just weren't comfortable, even doing my prep like I do when I shave with a SR. One shave and they're done...never really comfortable.
