Because they knew you would only buy 1 or 2 of them in a lifetime,,, but would buy thousands of the plastic garbage razors.
John has it right , no way to sell many of them so a lot of their production was limited runs. Tc
This is exactly why I keep loaning them out to as many people as I can. It continues to be very easy to make converts to safety razors.
Plus, I guess some people need to look up rhetorical.
Beautiful things, back when there was more pride in a product produced.
If you haven't seen one, go have a look at a Wilkinson 7 Day safety razor set, real old school, half DE and half straight, little strop in them, each blade labelled with the day of the week, comes in a nice metal case, do a search and have a look at one, then post in, "What Do You Have in The Mail"...awesome sets!;)
Like these?

It's actually a banana,,, but it can be a weenie if you want,,,,:rofl2:
NO, I don't want to see your banana either!:nono:
Someone make Hirlau put his weenie nana way!!
Those 7 day sets look like a fun and unique shaving experience
This forum is so not good for rhetorical questions. :deal: For example:
The Merkur 1904/41C is a very well made and affordable approximation of the most traditional of open combs - they have quite good reviews and a following; I liked mine a lot.

And Muehle sets, um, a very high bar with quality, looks and performance with the R41, a clever reinterpretation of the open comb razor.

Those Wilkinsons are in a whole 'nuther ballpark, though.
