    Default Breakouts with safety razors?

So I started using a straight razor nine years ago because I was breaking out so bad using cartridge razors. Once I switched the breakouts and ingrown hairs virtually disappeared. My question for you all is, has anyone had the same experience with DE razors? I kind of want one just to change things up but I don't want to buy one and still have the breakout problem. Thanks!

I do use a DE as well as a straight razor and have no problems with ingrown hairs with the DE. Not sure what you mean by "breakouts" though.

So when I would shave with a cartridge razor as soon as I'd be done with the shave my kneck would be covered in raised red bumps. Some weeping depending on if I went over them with the razor.

OK, razor bumps then. No, have not experienced that with a DE either.

Good to know. I might have to give it a go then.

You can pick up a Gillette TTO, Adjustable on eBay for a low cost. Then if you dont like it your not out a lot of funds. Id recommend to search for one of your birth year and quarter. I have all that were made in my year and quarter. They are not extremely hard to find.

Go back to basics with a DE. Skin stretch and keep the angle low and you shouldn't have the same problem you had with cartridge razors.

I just might do that. Any particular blade you recommend?

That's the kicker, everyones boat race is different, our friend BobH can do a four pass shave, if I was to do that, even with a feather light touch my face would be screaming.
Many vendors will do a sample pack of different blades for a few bucks so give that a go. Also remember that DEs will perform different in different razors.
