Got my Merkur Futur today
From the second I saw her, I mean it. I had to have it. I can't wait to try it tonight, from what I've seen from reviews, it shave better than yhe fatboy/aristocrat which has given me the best shave I've ever had even with Dorco blades. Tonight I get to try out my Merkur Futur with a Merkur super platinum blade. All I can say is, WOW this thing is a beast. I love the sleek look and it's heavier than my other razors. And I can't complain about the price, under $100 after shipping

Watch the weight of it as the weight of the razor is plenty for a good shave. I'm hooked on green Astra blades & Feathers. You are going to like it for sure...

I'm still testing blades to see which I like the most. I'm yet to try Astra and Feather.

Get one of those sample packs that have packages of quite a few blades. I highly recommend both, feather blades are as sharp as ANY blade made...you have been warned.

I gave my wife a Futur a year ago.
She liked it fine until she borrowed my Merkur Slant.
Now I have a Futur and she has a Slant.If you don't care where you are, you are not lost.

Nice razor you bought. I just got done shaving with mine 20 min ago. It shaves as close as any SR. I have 2 of them 1 in chrome and the other in brushed metal. I took mine apart the other day to clean it. Very easy to do.
I use Derby blades in mine and Astra blades......enjoy.

Shaved with it this morning and for not being broke in, that thing shaved like a dream, but when I was putting the blade in, I think I found a few blemishes. What I'm betting is that's where the contacts were when they did the gold plating.

Talked to the place I bought it from. They said to keep it and they'll ship me a new one for free, they aren't sure if Merkur will want me to send flawed one back so they just told me to hold onto it and keep using it till the new one arrives.
