So, I cut my own flat top but I like a straight shave on my neck. I have the wife do it in the shower. It's just more..."cut to the chase," than the hot towels etc. The best thing I've found for the shower is this stuff.

It took some doing to get her to use the straight. She's afraid of making me bleed out but...whatever... Finally got her comfortable with the Geo. W. Korn "The Real" fixed blade. Before that the best I could get her to use was the DE and this stuff worked well with it also in spite of the granules.
Of course, thats.not exactly the same so take it for what it's worth.

There are a slew of razors allegedly made for that purpose that are worthless for that. Just a few do the job right and proper with comfort. You gotta read the reviews carefully.

Even then with the right ones you have be careful with certain pieces of real estate.

Addendum to my last post: granted it's not my balls but I have tried the shaving soaps brushing it on with a brush which, by the way seemed to disintegrate in the misty shower, but the soft soap just rubbed on with the fingers after soaking the neck in the hot water stays well in the mist and has enough silkiness from the fat content to give a good close shave. Closer than any of the shaving specific soaps. The biggest problem is washing it off of you.

I found the choice of razor to be almost inconsequential in comparison.

Spender, I definitely wouldn’t have guessed you’d be the expert on this subject!

I do agree with Spendur though. Get an electric specifically designed for it. They don’t pull, and they do a real nice job. I have a Phillips and can go in the shower. You can trim it so there’s a bit of stubble or you can take it to the wood. They work excellent, and you don’t have to worry about slipping.

While this mainly talks about the fairer sex of our species, the last part is very interesting about this topic of men 'shaving up'--

Come on TC, it's not the 80's anymore.

You're girl shouldn't have to pick pubes from her mouth and neither should you. It's a better experience for both people.

I know this is getting a little too in depth, but that's a true statement. ^^^

A soft brush is recommended, IMO. I can only imagine what your wife would say, if she saw you working a lather down there. Tell her, its your mad, dog.
Well we separated in 2015, divorce finalized in 2018 so I don't care what she thinks..... my new partner wants me to wax.

The electric I tried was a Phillips designed for that area and had great reviews.... my skin just won't handle electric razors.
