That's gotta be the most stupid idea of the century. Why not just buy one razor that will last your entire life?
I completely agree.
Having said that, I am kind of proud that not many people can shave like we do. If everyone could do it I don't think I would feel like it's special.
Of course we could shave with one blade that will last our entire lives but I bet there aren't many of that do use just one blade. I am scared to add up just how much I've spent on razors, brushes, soaps, strops and stones and I've only been shaving like a man for 2 years. Probably more than I spent on Gillete blades and cans of lazy shave :roflmao
I know what ya mean, Steve. But you also have something that can be sold and used again, because its not disposal.
Of the hundreds that I own, most all were bought for less than a pack of disposables.
I'll buy a pink one and try it in the shower.
Ya know those TV commercials for that electric razor where the "Navy guy" is shaving with it underwater?
I'd like to see that with this razor.
Actually, I've wanted to get a Safety Razor to try but I have resisted because I worry that I might find it so convenient that I stop using my straights and that I never want to do so I just don't give myself any other options.
It would be useful to have one in the drawer for if I cut my hand or hurt my wrist etc and stropping a straight would be difficult.
I do have a cheap shavette that I bought when I first started shaving so that I had something to use while my razor was away being honed. When Outback discovered I only had one razor and a shavette he generously sent me 4 more so I never did use that shavette but that would work if I found myself unable to strop but still stay in the realm of straights.
While this idea isn't for me since I hate multi-blade razors, it does at least address the stupidity of chucking mountains of plastic disposables into landfills. And that at least is a small step in a better direction.
