I don't have a DE razor, but I know of other shaving strokes you could use besides W/X/ATG. On ebay, once in a while you might find an old ad by Gillette demonstrating a sliding technique. It's sort of like WTG, except you go at a slight angle instead of straight down. The blade still faces downwards though. Then another is called the J-hook. It's a short straight downward stroke, followed by a clockwise turn, forming a J. The final alternative stroke I know is the blade buffer. Kind of hard to describe... These are very, very short strokes. Not sure what else to say about it. These are suppose to provide a closer shave than conentional W/X/ATG strokes, but I haven't tried them myself, since I don't have a DE razor.
I believe there's a video on youtube demonstrating all three.
Yes, user "Mantic" has created videos (on Youtube) demonstrating those techniques. I have tried them and found for my beard they do not really do anything above and beyond what a normal ATG pass does, but a lot of people report good results from them and they are definitely worth checking out.
