    Default having your birth year razor

    it seems as if a lot of people out there own a razor made the year they were born.. a fun idea i suppose.. but what was out in 81?

    I think Gillette came out with the Atra around that time. As far a DE's go I don't know.

    Lots of great razors in the late 1800's but if you are talking about the late 1900's look for Dovo's, Puma's, Hen and Rooster and maybe TI's and Bartman's to name a few.

    What's a good way to date a straight razor? I have a DE with the year 1914 on it, the gillette DE's have date codes on them. My straights have nothing as far as I can tell. I go through a lot of antique shops looking at straights, I'd like to know when they were made. Any ideas?

    yeah.. i was thinking the atra.. as for de's.. 1981 probably didn't have much to offer.. i guess i'll find my dad's birthyear razor instead.

    Thats the only reason i bought a 1956 maroon tip Super Speed!! Pretty sad excuse to buy another razor!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

    I know there are some DE of that year out there I have seem them.. I'll keep my eye out for some. You might even find one NOS as well.
