Anyone try em all and prefer one over the other?...I am curious to know what the Schick Injectors are like in comparison to other items?..they are pretty cheap to start, which is nice.
I have litterally used EVERYTHING that for shaving here in the states except a Schick injector Str8/DE/SE/Disposable plastic blades and cartridges from Mach3/Electric shavers

The injector is my favorite safety razor. Usually I load them with a Schick blade but sometimes a cut down Feather AC blade gets the nod.
I use a Krona and I think it's a great DE razor. Nice butterfly action, matte chrome finish on head and black resin handle. More aggressive than a Gillette Super Speed for a real smooth, close shave. Still decent prices at antique shows and on Ebay plus Schick DE blades are nice as well.
I think the krona is a wonderfull razor, and never gets the praise it deserves, i have 2 injectors, a 1930's model, and a 1970's model, they shave wel, but i am ot that fussy on them, but for some, its thier no 1 razor, try one out, they are pretty cheap on the bay to pick up!

For me, the Schick Injectors and the 1912/1924 GEM/Ever-Ready SEs are the best shaving safety razors I have used, by a long margin :)
In the States the Ted Pella PTFE coated stainless blades, both Injector (code 121-4) & SE (code 121-3) can be had quite economically.
Dissection Tools, Scissors, Blades, Forceps, Scalpels, Spatulas
I highly recommend that you give these razors a try !

IME the Merkur Slant in the standard 37C or the longer and heavier 39C are my favorite DE razors. Work well with a Feather. I also like the old Gillette red tips, early TTO Aristocrats, British TTOs ....... Big Fellows. I haven't shaved with a DE in a couple of years and unless I have to because of traveling I won't go back to them. I will always prefer shaving with a straight. More afraid of a nick with a DE than with a straight razor. I haven't shaved with an injector in forty years but I liked the Schick a lot when I was in my twenties.

Before going to a DE razor I used various injectors for six months or so. I enjoyed that time because after finding the right combo my shaves were excellent. It wasn't an instant bonding sorta thing though, since I started with the worst possible type for me.
The earlier short handle E and G models are pretty darn aggressive. The head design changed with the I types and later, and those are much more civilized.
You have to try different blades. There's just no getting around that.........just like a DE thing. The best blade in the world can't compensate for using a razor that doesn't fit, but it can make a difference in the right one. Best bet would be something like a J L or M (adjustable) and start from there, unless you like a razor with a bite to it. To me, those early shortys feel like a good 7-8 on the gillette adjustable chart......some people love em though.
The shave is different with an injector. The injector blade is rigid.......no play at all. The blade feels and sounds different than a DE. It's more of a sorta muffled effect, which is interesting. It's strange shaving with a blade without having much feedback. It feels more like a squeegee going over my face, if that makes sense. It's not a bad experience at all, but different from a DE.
You gotta learn a little injector technique. The angle of attack will be easy, but the pressure will be tricky at first. Yep, you need to bear down with injectors, and that takes a few shaves to figure out. Heh, you have to deprogram yourself and realize they weigh almost nothing. They need help to perform at their best.
The injector ended up being a great razor for me at the time, and made the transition to a DE painless. That was a real bonus I wasn't expecting. The shaves were always close and extremely comfortable ones, once the right combo was found.

Oh, the Schick blades made in China have received nice reviews. Those are usually found at small independant drugstores and the like. Do not bother trying the German ones.
The schick injector is a great razor I still have 2, schick used to make a twin blade to fit the injector, but found the single blades worked best. When the blades lost their edge I used to eject them and turn them over.
I was considering buying some new blades before I decided to go straight :)
The schick injector holds fond memories for me because it's the razor I learned to shave with.
I still (sort of) remember a twelve year old me insisting that I needed to borrow my dads injector to shave off that one wisker I just knew was there, even if nobody else saw it.
I still have that injector and still use it with good results, but objectively speeking I can't rule out nostalgia as part of the reason I like the injector so much. haveing said that, I find that an injector provides me with a close shave without as much danger of nicking myself on certian problem areas that I have.
I love the old Schick injectors, the E model ones with the bakelite are what I am referring to. They give me shaves that are equal to my straights which is just mind boggling. The newer ones are good but they look so dumb that I can't use them. Imo, the best safety razors ever made (in order) are:
1). Schick Injector- bakelite versions
2). Gem/ Ever Ready - Lather Catcher 1910 or the 1912 models.
3). Gillette New Improved (Richwood, Bostonian, etc).
I don't really bother with any other safety razors other than those.

I have you all beat I have shaved with everything I can get my hands wrapped around including -str8, double edge, single edge, injector, cartridge, electric, disposable, kitchen knife and a broken beer bottle. I am sitting here looking at a hatchet and a sharpening stone and I am seriously thinking of shaving with that, I have an ax in my tool shed which might be next.
