I've heard there are supply issues to the UK and the US for Merkurs, maybe you might look at an Australian supplier such as Merkur Barber Pole Double Edge Safety Razor: Matte Handle 38002 - Buy Men's Skin Care and Shaving Products Online - Men's Biz But I see they are running ou of stock too.

I have Merkurs and old Gillettes and, since buying one of the Ivory handle Edwin Jaggers, I've not used them!

The Jaggers are cheaper than the Merkurs and are way better in my book. Over on Badger and Blade they are getting to be the most talked about DE razors.

No offence taken Bazz. It was just a thought. I bought mine from that mob. I wouldn't have the faintest what I should pay for one, but I could afford it so I paid the asking price.

Hmmmm yeah I did see there seemed to be a supply issue.... That`s going to steer my decision a bit being as my birthday is really soon. Lets just say I love the look of that particular razor and I`m basically just weighing up what you guys say about various razors and I`ll buy based on that. I can`t go far wrong listening experience really. I`ll have a better look at the Jaggers after tea then I think, see if there`s anything I like the look of. Are they graded in any way? I see people refering to "Fast" or Aggressive" razors, being as I need something that suits my young straight shaving status, well I`m relying on you guys there too! lol I`m sure I`ll be happy with whatever I end up with......

Well if you are after a rolls razor this is just a straight on a stick. I know where there is about 3 or 4 for sale about an hours drive from bath I have looked at these and have been thinking hmmm maybe British Empire TecH
All I have read about them is gives a good shave. As for comments about steep learning curve if you can use a straight you can anything

PM me if you want to know where this stash is.

lol Yeah I thought the same about that comment.... Hmm... Well thanks for that, I think I`m going to go for this nice little set though...
The English Shaving Company - Edwin Jagger shaving accessories, shaving creams and aftershaves
A choice of four razors there, I`d be very happy to get any one of those for my birthday I get a few smellys with it too....

Ok will do just looking at the bay for prices and whats out there. Any one who is not used to this type of thing is going to be scared but not me I can use a Merkur Futur on 6 and did so the first time I tried. Although I would not reccomend a newbie to do that!
