    Default DE Top piece

On a three piece DE comb razor is it normal for the top to expose more blade from one end to less blade exposure on the other?

No it's not. Something is either warped or bent there.

Thanks! I didn't think so. I messed around a little this evening with the blade position and seem to have straightened it out. But I don't think that their should be play in the blade to do that. This is with to different brands of blades. Also I have a Merkur that sets the blade perfectly which lead me to ask the question. It's kind of disappointing since this is a new $$ razor I'm having a problem with. Maybe I'll talk to the Manufacture and explain the problem.

    Trimmy72,

    This problem is not un-common

Assemble the blade into the head, ensuring all is aligned. Hold the head like you would the plunger of a syringe(thumb and first two fingers), then screw the handle on - this should keep the blade aligned until the handle seats.

    Good luck !

    Have fun !

    Best regards

Emailed the manufacturer, about the problem. I sent them some pictures of the razor head and they responded that it's not right and a replacement will be sent.

    Trimmy72:

I had a similar situation one time. Upon careful examination I found that the sides of the top piece were not parallel - I measured it with a dial caliper and found that it varied from one end to the other by .025. This was enough to see more blade from one end to the other. The top was either mismachined or overground in the mfg. process. It did not affect the shaving quality in any way so I just left it be. But I think that you are doing the right thing by notifying the mfg. They should take care of it.

    Default Goodfella DE Replacement

Goodfella responded quickly and sent a Replacment. I've used it for a month with no problems. Nice DE......
