Even though this thread seems to have come to a close I'll add one last comparison. I own two de's a Merkur 33C as well as a slim. Merkur blades in the slim, garbage, wear as in the slim the Merkur is my blade of choice. Who would of thunk that a manufacture's blade would perform better in another companies razor :S

    cheers

Merkur blades have a poor reputation and although I like them I have found better, cheaper blades. FWIW I find feathers a bit rough, while I like Gillette super thins for both sharpness and smoothness.

The Mekur blades in my slim are fantastic!

Blades choice is so personal, I didn't like Merkur blades in any of my DE's, (Slim, Merkur Slant, Lord L6, Mergress)
I have three fave blades. Feather is the top choice, next is Treet Durasharp(cheap carbon blade that amazingly feels almost like a Feather) and third Personna Med Preps.

I love Gillette adjustables. They are one of the best razor values around.
