Gillette New Standard, problem?

Gentlemen, I would appreciate some opinions on this safety razor.

Before I test it on my delicate skin I was wondering if I should sand down the underside of the head plate or leave it alone. Hopefully you can see in the pictures that there is a slight bend in the edge of the blade due to the dimples/dents on each corner of the top piece. Does anyone else have a new standard that looks the same? Also, it has that common crack in the handle near the top, it still fits tight but I was wondering what methods are out there to fix it permanently (solder, glue, jbweld, bubblegum)

Doesn't look like it's affecting the blade itself, so it won't affect the shave either. Unless the cosmetics really bug you, like groovy said leave it alone.

as stated above, looks to be just a cosmetic problem. should be a great shaver! seeing this makes me want to break out my old slim adjustable, its been quite a while since i broke out my DE

I don't think that yours is any different from the others. The little ^^ are part of the heads construction. Enjoy!

Everything must be PERFECT! perfectly straight blade, perfectly polished and plated razor, perfect diction in my thread responses!

it does actually look intentional as a way to 'mute' the ends of the blade which is where it is most likely to cause a nick at the corners.

I agree with the other gentlemen to leave the razor alone. From what I can see, the slight bend should not hamper your shave.
