Gentlemen-
I am asking from a position of extreme ignorance here, so please be kind :)
Are there any quick answers or easy references that state the differences between the popular models of Gillette DEs?
For example, is a Fat Boy just a beefy Slim or is there a difference in the mechanism?
Is the Aristocrat just a Super Speed (non adjustable) or Slim (adjustable) packaged in a fancy box, or is there something more?

I would go google Mr razor. He (Achim) has a website that will show you virtually every Gillette razor by year, model etc.
That would be a good start for you. His site has both German and English that should pull up for you. There are many variations and many similarities in the models.

Your example of the Fatboy and Slim is a good one to use. They look pretty much the same really, but there's some subtle differences that makes em shave differently. The Fatboy has been my go to razor for years now, and I never use my Slim. The Fatboy fits me lots better, which isn't to say the Slim isn't a good razor.
There really is quite a bit to figuring out the DE razor thing. Heh, finding the right razor is only half the battle. You also need the right blade to really make the combo click. Finding those is another potential rabbit hole freefall.
Best way to learn about DE razors is to start hanging out where the DE forum crazys spend their time. Read a bunch and then ask questions.

I have more trouble shaving with my slim than my straight. So many nics when I use it. Always along the Jawline
