Default ok my first DE ?

so out of curiosity and since i have all the other extra gear for wet shaving i picked up a Gillette Super Speed off the bay today ... so while at the drug store i picked up a pack of blades and when i got home of course i had to pull one out of the dispenser ...
my ? is are there different blade thicknesses ? cause the ones i have are like a sheet of paper and feel like they would break at first contact of whiskers ..lol..

now ive never used a DE and have never played with a blade from one so keep your laughs on the down low ...lol

There all about the same for thickness if anything some are thinner. And they well hold up against the whiskers.

DE blades are very thin and flexible.
Now remember do not apply pressure
when shaving. Use a light touch...
just like you do with a straight.
I'm sure you will do fine.

Oh, and you have just started down
    a new path of addiction.

By dimensions alone DE blades are pretty standard across the board. Sharpness and comfort, well that's another topic altogether

Due to their flexible nature just make sure to tighten the head of the razor down really well. If the blade is loose it will vibrate, making for a very uncomfortable shave and probably blood as well.

Cool gooser, I just picked up my first DE today on a day trip to Skopje Old Town Bazaar in Macedonia. I am not sure what I actually have yet but I am going to go start my own thread now. Good luck to you with yours.
