No more straights! Going all feather!

The blasted things are so good, easy to maintain, with no need of stones, hones, strops, etc. etc., and considering time, it's difficult to decide during a morning routine as to which one to use....Feather, etc. or traditional. Time being the main issue seems to be, in most cases, the deciding factor. I really want and like to use my traditional custom/vintage razors, but it's so easy, less time and clean-up, to go with the Feather DX. I figure either way I'm still straight razor shaving.

When I have time and feel nostalgic, I certainly use a traditional straight. When less inspired or just pressed for time.....or just lazy I use the Feather. When I'm just in one of those "blah" moods I use a DE or .... I never said this... my Mach III.

I love a good razor!! Vintage, custom, or a quality "no sharpen" razor like a Feather.

I feel you Howard- completely. With the exception of that which you never said. 😀

Yesterday I made the mistake of forgetting how sharp those feather blades are. I was in a hurry in the morning and so I did a quick 5 minute shave with the shavette - ended up driving to work with a towel held to my chin. Those blades are wicked.

About to perform my Saturday morning shave. Was planning on breaking out the WB. But the SS hasn't been used in a few days so I think I will get after it with it instead. An major I too tend to forget how sharp they are till you see the blood. Fantastic shavers.....

Got to love SRD - order Thursday night, at my door today (Monday).

Stoked to to give it a shot!!

EDIT - did the old, shave the arm test. Whoa!

The bend on the handle will take a little getting used to - but at first blush, it seems pretty comfortable.

Finally - I really like that it feels like a purpose built tool. It does not feel cheap at all. The rubber is really tactile. It's as "grippy" as a bike inner-tube.

Without having had shaved - kind of happy I got this. :)

Hey David...nice. :tu I don't know why or how they got the name Feather, but it's a good reminder as to the touch needed with these. Feather touch or....it will remind you!! I think you'll love it.

I'll give you my "first shave" impressions tomorrow - but thanks for the reminder to go slow!

Well, I pulled the blade into the shower today and did a two pass. Lovely shave. Really enjoyed it.

The grip isn't suitible for wet hand - skateboard tape is on order.

Earcutter that is the model I used today with a super blade. It does take a bit of getting used to, but I find it really nice for trimming my goatee. I agree the handle material is nice if dry but a little water tends to get it slick. Either way to me they are the finest in replaceable blade "straights". Congrats on the purchase.
