I personally love shavettes. I do keep a Weck hair shaper in my travel kit/gym bag. It's just like the Weck Sextoblade, but slightly shorter. The shave is no different. I think keeping a shavette, that you do not need to hone, is a great solution for keeping in a bag for travel (or keeping at a secondary home).

I use a Dorko shavette when I travel with family

I picked up a Kai Captain. $60 less then a Feather DX. Uses same blades and gives a great shave. Sometimes I use my Futur DE but for a straight experience the Kai is a great alternative.

I used a Parker shavette or Turkish sedif for years. As my travel razors. Work well and easily replaced

Just got home from a week long trip to the Caribbean. I would normally travel with a feather SS. Not wanting customs to confiscate one of my beloved feathers, I traveled this time with a vintage Gillette red tip. Not as close of a shave as straights but did the job well.

Wow this thread in an oldie, I was a jr member back when I started this, didn't know poop from applesauce. I still use that MD Dragon shavette from time to time when traveling but not often anymore. I bring my most beat up straight, a barber hone of choice and a travel strop. Glad you brought this thread back up Jkatz, bringing back memories.

I have a Dovo shavette that I will use when traveling. I may over time acquire a few more straight razors and pick one for travel.
