David did you have a bad experience? :tameshigiri:
so does that make it the lastest paperweight?
This reminds me of many years ago.
When my HS Football Coach brought a World Class Ballet instructor in for one of our 2 a day sessions.
Do you know what a Master of Ballet can teach HS Football players?
Humility....
My DX is a efficiant tool, one without a gram of forgiveness or warmth...
I'm glad I have it and have invested the time and blood to master it, but I don't miss it when a lack of travel keeps it out of the rotation.
And unlike any of my Straights - there is a pause when I pick up that DX to "get my mind right"
Smooth shaving....
'Loved your post, MJC. 'Still wearing a big smile. Earcutter, Thank You for posting. You've tried different stuff & we're all the better for your reports.
No surprises, they are what they are and i enjoy mine when it shows up in the rotation. I have only a couple straights which give me that kind of pause because of their sharpness which will remove the top layer of skin cells.

Gentlemen,
The Feather Artist Club — I have the DX in pearl — is a great shaver. And sassy. And unforgiving, yes. I, too, take it for what it is and enjoy the shave once in a while — carefully, I might add. It is also my travel razor, with the double edge as backup. Another one of the razor's attributes is that it teaches discipline: keep the pressure light and pay attention.
That's funny Ed. No... before my edit, I lamented on and on about how easy the Feather is to use, and how I seemingly end up reaching for it more and more these days being rather busy. But it just doesn't shave as well as my straights. My straights are just so much smoother... when I take the time to hone em that is :).
It's like anything - I recall back in the day when I had more time and less money, I had a car that I had to pamper all the time to get it running. But when it ran... oh when it ran. It was art. Then I got older and didn't have the time. I bought a much "nicer" car, but it just seemed so soulless.
