Wow, that’s a good looking shavette. Looks very well made. I’ve never seen one before, not that I’ve been looking being I have the Feather. But I’d give it a go. I’d just have to make sure to have had my morning coffee before snapping a blade in half.

Bigtony I'm really looking forward to hearing what you have to say about the Focus.

I have never shaved with any type of changeable blade razor but after seeing your first post, I have a red one on the way from Fendrihan.

I'm figuring that this will be great for traveling. No blade present, no hassle in a carry on at the airport.

Pete, you still need to take blades with you and in a carry-on thats still a no go. So you have to buy whatever blades you can find when you get to your destination. Ive found best with traveling is to mail your razors ahead of time.

Ive never used a shavette but that one does look enteresting. Tell us how it goes.

Yes Jerry, my plan for traveling, seeing that I always rent a car and getting around is no problem, is to buy blades when I get to where I'm going. Walmart, Walgreens, CVS and other drug stores always have them. I don't always have a place to mail razors or blades. A lot of times I grab the car at the airport, drive till I get tired, then find a room.
Bringing and checking in a suitcase eliminates the problem, but not always worth the extra $$.

It remains to be seen if I even like this style of shaving. I've been curious for years so I'll give it a fair shot.

That’s fair. You might hate it! But to Jerry’s point, any old blade at Walgreens might expidite your hate for the tool. For real.

I’d say that if a shavette is anything like my Feather AC, you’ll need to adopt a slightly less aggressive angle of attack, and find the blade that works for you.

In my D/Es a Merkur blade be it the first, third or sixth shave, just feels like it’s ripping my face apart! Walgreens sells Merkur blades out by me - if that’s the only choice I had, I’d grow a beard. But tons oh men love em?? Personnas are my personal favorites.

If you PM me your address, I’d be glad to mail you a couple of Merkur, Derby, Feather, and Personna blades.

There are so many AOS stores around. They normally uave a couple decent brand blades. Though you will pay thru the ear for them in perspective. The talk of the fethers is so grand i 5hink id go with one of them if i was going to try a shavette. Then id want to make some wood scales for it. Ha.

Still, id love to hear peoples comments on this style shavette.

I got one of these about a year ago.
I found it's okay, but you do need a slick lather as the aluminium blade holder has a tendency to drag on drier skin.
The main problem for me is it's only designed to use De blades that are snapped in half.
So I have tended to use it only rarely as I have quite a lot of single blades in my collection.
On the plus side , it's very light & shaves like a champ.
    Cheers Paul
