Default Still having problems shaving WTG under the nose with an IBC and Feather AC SS

G'day IBC or Feather AC DX or SS shavette lovers,

I'm still having problems shaving WTG & XTG under my nose with an IBC and Feather AC SS shavette because I keep getting nicked no matter how cautious I am, what is your secret to overcome this issue and I cannot find the latest youtube to get more details on the angle shaving with a shavette. Keep in mind this is a very frustrating shaving under nose with a bloody shavette and it's extremely tense not easy to relax.

Also I forgot how do you shave XTG on the neck holding the shavette from the ear to the adam apple, I have no issue going WTG and ATG because their are some tinny stubble left over on my neck and the only way I can finish it is go XTG.

    Cheers

Okay any straight razor who don't have a shavette can help me with my current issue.

What a bunch of help we are.

    Here's my thoughts and experiences.

I started shaving with a straight razor, being a perfectionist I would spend hours honing multiple times a week. This while fun took a huge chunk of my time so I thought why not get a feather dx for when I don't feel like honing.

Long story short I bought one and haven't touched a straight since because the shaves are so good. On par with my straight razor edges but without all the maintenance and in my case hours of tinkering for the "perfect edge".

This revelation happened earlier this month.

I gently pull my nose upward and shave in a guillotine motion from just under the nose and out to the corner of the lip and repeat on the other side.

Generally you shouldn't need to go xtg on either the neck or moustache. If you did want to do that however I would suggest stretching the skin and making sure your angle is low.

It seems the blade is digging in for you because your angle is too high causing the blade to stick and dig in to your skin.

    Good luck.

I never had any luck shaving under my nose with a Trac II, a DE or a straight, always cut myself so I solved the problem by growing a mustache......................

so xtg I start the stroke at the base of my neck and go straight up toward the jaw line toe of the blade pointing at my ear. Hair on my neck grows from the center out.
