What are your friends/familys reaction to you shaving w/straight rzrs

Everyone thinks I'm odd, but, then again, they're 100% correct. I do a LOT of odd things. I posted this on facebook the other day:

I was telling Cindy just now:

I'm so f'ing Special. I wore highly polished brown hand made boots from Portugal, nice grey finely checked slacks, a French cuff shirt from the Fine English Gentlemans' Shirt Shop, my father's vintage cufflinks. I hand ground my coffee beans in my vintage Spong English coffee grinder and drank it from my vintage French coffee bowl and shaved with my antique straight razor from 1882 and applied Spanish lemon scented aftershave and Portuguese Lavanda scented Ea de Cologne.

How come she thinks I'm not Special?

Also, I NEVER drink instant coffee, NEVER drink from a mug, always use a fountain pen or a pencil (never a biro) and sometimes use a dip pen. Generally, I want to do every tiny thing differently from everyone else. I guess I'm a hipster, really...

Hipsters irritate plenty of people because they try so desperately to be unique. But they do that by acting, dressing, and behaving just like all the others around them who claim to be making an attempt at uniqueness. And what really irritates me is their utter failure to appreciate the irony of it all.

My wife likes my SR shaves because of: 1) result and scent; 2) first in our time my hobby is practical; 3) we add new ritual in our life (she prefers Proraso Green Tea and old French frameback/
My 13 y.o. girl thinks " 'ts cewl daaad, none chicken boys in ma class could do it' (sorry I've try to re-translate the slang she use in Russian)
My 6 y.o. said 'When I start I start it like you'

Friends think I'll cut my throat in a near future
Co-workers think I'm totally mad.

Not a hipster Carl, just a guy who likes to find the little pleasures. I think to be a hipster you would need a single speed bike, to drop about 25 years, need rich parents and be disdainful.

But I digress, which is starting to get me in trouble, though as I am being nice to Carl he probably won't pull me up.
My colleagues thought it was odd, but also think that I am odd, though one or two have actually been asking me about it.
My wife thinks it takes too long, and is a passing fad.
My 6 year old daughter likes how smooth I can get my face.

Someone saw me shaving at the trucking terminal last night and asked me if I was "Bad Leroy Brown" (after the Jim Croce song).

Shaving (here) isn't something to discuss. Guess my wife has seen me shaving with straight but she has never given any comment of it. I like it that way.
For me straight razors are not 'cool' or 'manly' ( couldn't care less what others think), or anything like that. Just a best way to shave.
Doesn't make me special or specially individual.
