Mole In The Road
Hello, I was wondering what advice you could give me about shaving with a straight because I have a mole at the back of my jawline that protrudes maybe 1cm out from the skin, I want to avoid shaving it off. Lol but want to make sure I don't have any hair on or around it either. Any tips would be greatly appreciated :D

Pag, its no easy thing, but can be done. 'Had issues w/ shave bumps when I took up the straight and bled less w/ a str8.
Moles seem to grow hair on their top. In addition, you have to shave up to the mole & not do surgery. For the mountain top, its delicate, mainly trying to stabilize the mole which is held in place by a flexible/stretchable tether of skin. It helps to have at least 3 hands, but the idea is to stretch the skin w/ 2 fingers (like the thumb and birdie finger) and place the index finger against the side of the mole to help stabilize. If a regular tiny short stroke won't fully mow the timber, you may need to do a few strokes rotating the razor on the axis of the spine - like the coupe de maitre under the schnoz. Mowing up to the mole will just be practicing your approach. If that's intimidating, start by using short, no pressure buffing strokes - where a back & forth stoke is done without lifting the cutting edge from the skin. The backstroke portion also keeps the skin hydrated w/ lather. (Thanks to the honorable Godfather for the backstroke putting lather back in place for another stroke)

My goodness! I hope that you meant that the mole protrudes 1mm! It would be extremely unusual for a mole to be a full centimeter high, though acanthomas and their kin can achieve those elevations.
I agree that you should care while shaving around moles; repeated trauma can lead to problems.

Have a dermatologist look at it and perhaps remove it or at least biopsy it,I had a good friend that had a mole on his back, turned out to be a melanoma,it killed him:(

Yeah that's what I meant. Lol it's like Val Kilmers just on the opposite side

This is truly the strangest thread I have read so far on SRP. First off, a one cm Mole! When a mole gets cm long it gets a new name. Then a member wears a tin hat to the party and tells new guy that he might die with this extra thing hanging off his neck. Next someone references an actor, then a quote from an old movie of his....well since you started it, I had a friend who had a friend who had about 78 one cm or longer moles on his face. He could never shave which is why I suppose he never joined SRP.
OK reset, let's say your mole is actually 1mm. That would make it about like one I have on my top lip, well between the lip and nose, a beauty mark if you will. So the first time I went over it with a straight I took the top off and as you know they bleed for about a month before they stop. So I started bring out my double edge just for the mole and that got old real fast and felt like a defeat. My strategy is to shave up to the mole as someone above has said then remove about 90% of the lather from the mole so I can know exactly where it is. Then I let the razor float over the mole ever so lightly. If I need a second pass I get a little lather from somewhere and repeat until it LOOKS ok. I don't spend a lot of time trying to get the mole BBS as I think that would indicate insanity. A square point helps. Good Luck!

MyPoint was: if indeed the mole protrudes 1CM,it should be looked at by a dermatologist

From what I understand, apple cider vinegar will get rid of moles, I will probably try this too. I accidentally cut mine off and haven't had any more issues, it's mostly gone now, sure did bleed though.
How to remove a mole with apple cider vinegar.
