Gents, I'm growing a goatee. I have a round point razor and am finding a little difficulty in properly defining the verticals during this period where it's growing in. Would I do better with a square point razor?

jgjgjg, I have a goatee and moustache. For every day shaves I just work the length of the blade on the horizontal up to the edge of goatee/moustache. When I am needing a "presentation shave" I pull out one of my 3/8's and spend careful time trimming around said growth. One is a square point and the other round. I find not much difference between the two but I do find the narrower blade gives me the flexibility I need to do a close trimming.
Sounds like your are seeking our permission to buy another razor...what an odd concept! What kind of answer are you expecting from this crowd? :rofl2:
I also have a moustache and goatee. I've had good luck with holding the blade vertically to do the sides of the beard. Once a week or so I get in there with a safety razor to clean it up. My moustache and goatee are separated, and with the round tip it's tough to do between them. I know, those who shave their upper lips are saying "Ah, poor baby"
Absolutely, you need at least a couple more: square and french point

Honestly though I have found over the years that trimming around facial hair, at least on my face, is best accomplished with an EXTREME Hollow Grind Spike point that is honed to a Scary Sharp Level using a very light touch while shaving...
More recently I have grown very fond of Japanese Kamisori they are the ultimate for getting into tight places...
JMHO and I am by no means suggesting you buy all these styles of razors, I am simply sowing the seeds of RAD in fertile ground !!!!! Muhahahahaha
The goatee and moustache combo is known as a Van Dyke, by the way. (Thank you, Alex. Now I'd like to try "Useless Crap" again for $1000 please!).
