Red face Shaving The Chin Thanks

I just want to thank all of you for your suggestions and help. I am now working on my 7th full shave and teh chin ideas really helped. It is still a work in progress but I still have my chin intact and loving the straight razor. Again, thanks to all.

I have a 'van dyke' type of beard. Never learned to do the chin. I expect it is hard! Kudos to ya!

Bite your lower lip and pull up. Get the crest hairs ( the ones that are in that line of the front and bottom) lift your head and pull down slowly. You need to change your attack angle a few times to ride out the curve.

When I started I used to go 1/8th inch at a time for the angle. Now it's just reflex.

I have seen people shave up to the chin but it causes some razor burn.

If I shave upwards against the grain on my chin I would need a paramedic

I do it when I am rushed, that said I have very tight skin still. I just dont think inexperienced shavers should attempt it. Could end badly. ...

Short strokes and pull the skin tight.
