First Shave in 2 plus years
First straight razor shave in almost 3 years today. It was awesome. Used my old mainstay Griffon XX... I was hesitant because it had been so long.
Did it need honing? Did I forget? LOL. Do I have what I need even? But I was tired of debating in my own head and woke up today knowing all the girls were coming over and I wanted an extra close feeling shave. So I was doing it.
Nice hot shower...check
Hot towels...check
Razor...check
Soap and Brush...check
Bob Marley Album....check
End result. Fantastic shave!!! WTG was a little funny I think because its been so long since using a Straight and I haven't shaved since Tuesday lol. After that, felt just like I remembered. Face needs to get accustomed to the closeness but feels great. That old tingly feeling tells me its good. That, and I cant stop feeling it. Momma too. Shes very happy with the result but was doubtful as I stropped the razor this morning.
Think the blade needs a little touch up but after watching Lynn's video again last night, I am gonna knock that out this week. Never honed a damned thing so any input from you fellas will be welcome. I should have my lapping stone on Tues sostill have a little time to think things over some more and watch the CD again. And suggestions from you all will be welcome. I will be using Norton 4000/8000 with a 12000 possible. Waiting to hear from a friend.

Sorry to hear that, glad you're on the mend! Best of luck to you in the future, and happy shaving!
