A hundred laps on .5? C'mon. No one is talking about trashing an edge like that. I assume we are all discussing this with a certain level of comprehension.

Apparently not…
Clearly, you have never done it...
The edge is not trashed…just so you know.
Here's a comparison of several blades with the feather and a straight at the bottom of the page https://scienceofsharp.wordpress.com...ctured-blades/
That's a great site (and new to me). There's an even better comparison of the Feather and a straight edge on another page: https://scienceofsharp.wordpress.com...d-keen-part-2/
Thanks again Anthony.

Took you long enough to find this one ,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,:rofl2:
Reading the posts above one would get the impression sharpness is only a matter of edge geometry which is only part of the story. How about steel quality? Carbon steel vs. the alloys and diamond coatings used by Feather or any other commercial razor blade manufacturer.
Ahaaa! Scienceofsharp is Todd, our own fuzzychops! I recognize a series of SEM images. He hasn't posted here in over a year (since Glen ran him off :)) but I see that he visited not long ago.
