No way that was going to happen to me.
It's been a really long time since I posted in the forums. I have been using either a shavette or a straight exclusively for about 5 months now. Once I got past the rough beginning, it was all smooth sailing. Haven't had so much as a weeper in about 4 months. Just real nice smooth shaves. Each seemingly better than the last.
I was in the middle of a spirited debate on a dear subject with some people I didn't even know on Facebook when I decided to shower and shave between posts. I hurried my shower and got the lather just right. and started my shave. I shave a little different than most as I start under my nose and then my upper and lower lips. The chin is next followed by neck then my checks are last.
I only had both check to do to complete my first pass. I was concentrating on my next rebuttal for the debate when no pain was felt but the blade in a spot that it shouldn't be. It was my right check just in front of my earlobe. I immediately put my right hand over it because I could tell this one was going be a blood letting. I finished my left check with my left hand while applying pressure with my right hand to my right check.
The purpose of this post is to say "Yes it happens everyone." You get comfortable, or what I've referred to for over 20 years in people management as "Sloppy" and ego moves all other thought processes aside and says "It's all good. You are an expert."
Gonna take a shave day off tomorrow.
Have a good evening,
John
