Shaving across the neck

Has anyone ever shaved across the neck area with a straight? I have tried to find a way to do it, but somehow, the length of the sr8 & the scales gets in the way. Any tips & guidance would be appreciated. Thanks in advance [emoji1]

I have tried to go sideways on my neck and even with my tiny fixed blade it does not really work. Perhaps with very flexible wrists and a tiny razor. Currently I have a stroke that gets it very close. I am not sure, perhaps it is a scythe stroke.

I've been somewhat successful in a way. On my xtg pass I can get from my jaw line to about half way down on my neck. I start just below the earlobe and make a pass along the jaw line toward the chin. Each pass I try to go lower on the neck using the toe of the razor. I usually make it close to half way down my neck. I find this works well for me due to the direction of growth. It makes the atg go better. I do take extra care here as ive been bit a few times. Not the time to lose concentration. Skin stretching is a must as well. The lower half of the neck does just fine atg so I don't try xtg, not sure if I could even get it anyway. Hope my description makes sense for you.

Beard direction be damned, I just go North to South once then South to North once. I can only do this method with a straight, DE's won't do it.

I also could only managed a north south and vice versa

Scything strokes from base of neck back at the ear toward my chin at about 45 degrees.
Then scything strokes from chin down and out toward the base of my neck at 45 degrees. You can't see the blade doing this - use extra caution.

Sounds like a winner, I suppose its down to how the str8 is held,

Scything stroke, blade held at angle. Be careful with all razors but especially square and French points.
