Never hurts to keep a DE or throwaway and a can of gel handy for emergencies :)

I bet you're only holding the razor near your face for a minute of that :)
Shave 8(last night) 4 passes pretty uneventful. Used my full hollow ground, which is the dullest of my two. After 100 passes on birth sides of my balsa strop, 50 on the poly webbing "canvas" strop and 70 in the leather, it performed much better
Shave 9.three passes. With my extra hollow. Second was atg and actually pretty smooth. Did a third just because I had more lather. A DGS!(for me) can feel a tiny bit of stubble!
OK, shave 10. Been sick for the past few days, and been using my de. Felt better today, and decided to get back on the horse.
Well... I am very frustrated... with two things. One, my trash razors I got off eBay (not cheap either, around 100 each). One, the point has been rounded by the most likely Asian lady taking the razor to a stone and having no idea what she's doing, so the last 1/4 inch is literally useless and I want to just snap it off with a pair of pliers... the other, the pin is so goddam lose it flops around like... well I'm having a hard time coming up with a pg rated description... making it damn near impossible to hold it, either to my face, or the strop. But the thing shaves pretty good.
The second thing that's frustrating is the awkward angles. I can hardly see what I'm doing when I'm shaving the left side of my face cause I don't have enough trust in my left hand...
First things first, I need to get these damn razors fixed. Who can I send it to to get repinned, maybe even replace the cheap ass plastic scales? And get them honed? From my googling, the average honing fee is around 25?
Gonna put a hold on the straight till I get these pieces of trash straightened out. they actually shouldn't be that terrible, one is a crown from Boston, the other is a Joseph Rogers out of sheffield

Where are you located? It would help with recommending a honer if we knew your location.
It might actually be cheaper and save you time and grief to look for a vintage, shave ready razor in the buy/sell/trade section here at SRP.
You should be able to tighten the pin yourself. There is a YouTube video of Lynn doing that I believe.
You just need a small ball peen hammer. You put one side of the pin against some metal and tap lightly the other side of the pin. That's how you tighten the pin.
Find a video before you do it however or you may crack your scales or bend your pin.
I would say if it's bowing the scales you are "peening" it too hard. The copper pin is soft and you are just flattening the top of the pin a little more. Anytime that doesn't work it's likely that the pin is just a little too long (if it never was tight).
In this case, you need to file just a little off the length of the pin (very little) and then peen it again.
Another "trick" is to open the blade (get it out of the scales) before peening it and you are able to lightly press in on the scales a bit so that more of the pin is exposed to the peening action.
OK, got my razors back from Glen. The crown is so much better. It was missing washers! 😂
So. Shave 11 (yesterday) was with the crown yesterday. Two "quick" passes and actually got a decent shave. I also tried using my left(non dominant) hand to get my sideburns on the left side of my face, because with my right... It's awkward, and I can't see. Pretty uneventful shave...
Shave 12, today.the Rodgers...
This happens... https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/201...11f992efe1.jpg gives a whole new meaning to the term "razor burn" on my right side

This little devil... Happened as I placed the blade on my cheek for the first atg pass. So every time after, I had to be careful, or the blade would literally get stuck in it, since it was angled the direction I was going from then on.
It was also my second time using my castle Forbes lavender soap... I did probably 7 jaw/cheek passes just because I loved how the stuff smells...
Today... Is an ouchie day...

I must say... Other than the blood stubble... I got one damn good shave

Looks like it was only half eventful. So that's a bonus as all eventful would seriously hurt.
You're doing great, keep it up and things will come together for you
Yeah, last night was the first time I got anything other than a small nick or a weeper.
Crazy thing is. The slice on my left cheek is already fully closed. Not scabed over, like scar tissue closed.
My neck is still pretty rough... Maybe I'll keep dabbing it with my rose water/lanolin mix

OK, I'm going to stop doing daily updates, and just add when I learn something.
What I learned last shave. First atg pass on my neck, use only about 1/4 the blade. Much more than that and I think there's just too much hair that's too coarse. Subsequent passes 1/3 to 1/2.
I seem to not slice my face off with the crown, and I must say... The shaves I'm getting now are so much better. My previous shaves got about as close as I do now, but the next morning.
It's a combination of a DGS and a BBS. Areas around my jaw line are patchy

Practice, patience, and a few cuts.
Before I got good at the chin, I would make multiple xtg passes making sure I stretched the skin a tight as I could. That reduced the whiskers to a minimum making the chin easier to shave atg. Take it slow, keep the skin stretched tight as possible.
It's no different than anything else you do in your life. The more you do it the better you'll get.
