Just playing devil's advocate but if a razor can handle a full shave without stropping why not 2 or more shaves ?
What is the magic number & why ?

I believe the steel & or heat treat will be a factor, which is why I said 'some' razors will benefit from a mid shave stropping.
As OCD as I am, I do not strop between passes. Yet. And, I prefer CDO to keep those letters in alphabetical order.
Exactly. Or put another way, if you do a one pass shave and you strop after each shave then how is that any different than stropping in between passes? Or maybe if you shave daily with a one pass multi directional shave you shouldn't need to strop for 3 shaves which would equal one 3 pass shave (give or take)?
I to use the Mastro Livi loom strop and palm strop. I usually palm strop before I shave. Unless there is some tugging I don't palm strop during the shave. Using his technique on the loom strop makes the blade sharp and smooth for a complete shave.
I only strop before and after shaving.
I think I wouldn't even if I had the time. Just before for me
No, and if your edge is not SR then I doubt stropping between passes will make any difference.
I do a mini-strop between passes, I guess you could say. I do nine or ten strokes on the linen side. If anything, my razor is nice and clean for each pass.
