Entertaining and there are a few vids around about shaving with an axe iirc. Always wondered what the point of it was.
Bob
It's real shaving, entertaining in the ass.
So is shaving with a piece of obsidian but what's the point other than to say it can be done.

And I thought normal people were here, I was wrong. Everywhere the same thing ...
Honingman,
Very entertaining, indeed! Well done and very cinematic - like a short movie. I like the Tschaikovsky music that accompanied the video.
Shaving with an axe is what y'all are saying - to just prove it can be done. Isn't that similar to what a lot of posts on this forum are, with respect to honing, latest equipment acquisition, etc.? In other words: fun!
yea, Russians are insane.
I say that with a lot of affection. They will take everything to the extreme; chess, fighting, art, drinking...and apparently shaving too.
My axe is nowhere near that sharp, especially after the chopping block. It also gets honed with a grinder. ;)
I saw John Juranitch do it once at a sporting goods show and that inspired me to take my honing to the next level(s).
That's one hell of an open angle he's using.
You got to admit, that's a damn sharp hatchett!
Stay Sharp!
Nobody beats Murray Carter. The man can shave with anything!
I can't read Russian, but the setup makes it like 'this is what my dad in the Red Army used to do'...
Which is a healthy reminder why everybody decided to keep the Cold War 'cold' ;)
My history book was wrong - it had nothing to do with nukes!

I have a hard enough time trying to figure out a straight razor.
