Do you guys go with a different blade every daY?
I rotate between 2 blades day-on, day-off.
I have other razors, but those are my daily shavers.
:D
I have about 70 razors and I rotate through them all.
Pete <:-}
Not a different one everyday. I have maybe 20 shave ready and I usually stick with one for a few shaves then off to another.
If you are starting out it is a good idea to stick to 1 or 2 shave ready razors until you have your technique sorted. The 2 I learnt on were a Bengall and a Puma. Both full hollow round point 5/8, and very similar. Currently have 40 or so shave ready, so I just random pick one.
I have quite a few razors but I mostly shave with the same 12 or so. I switch my razor out more or less every week. There are unlesses in there like I am trying to get through a stack of honing, in which case I may change razors every day.
I try to rotate, but sometimes I get stuck on one razor for a while.
I rotate daily through 40 odd razors. The advice given to stick with a couple of razors when beginning till you have your technique down is solid advice.

I usually use a razor a couple few days in a row. But then I think, I haven't used xxxxx in a while and grab that one.
Sometimes I pick one that just gives an amazing shave and stick with it for a week or so
Also I agree with the just use 1 or 2 until you are more proficient with your shaves. It helps with the consistency of your success
I have about 10 razors I shave with, but I usually rotate between 2 (both around 5/8 square tip. one Puma and one W&B). My 2 main shavers take good edges like rest of my razors but these 2 are really easy to hone and I dont mind water stains or anything happenign to them that much. I use my other ones whenever I am in mood or it special day.
I rotate depending on my mood. Sometimes I'll go three day stretches with the same blade and there are some blades that I don't touch for a month at a time. Same goes for shave soap and scents. I tried having a different blade for every day of the week but I like the freedom to start the day off by selecting whatever I feel like that day. Sort of sets the tone for the day
I rotate through 8 razors with a different one each day. I have 7 soaps on the go at the moment and 4 brushes which I also rotate. That means that I get to try a large number of combinations of razor, brush and soap before I start to get repeats.
I am not sure if I have explained that very well but it makes sense to me
When you are new, you probably have one or two razors. Before adding additional razors to your collection, be sure you can use your first razors effectively. Develop your lathering, shaving and stropping techniques. Once you have done that, you can start adding to your collection.
As you add to your collection, be sure to try a variety of razors to see what works best for you.
Some people like narrow blades (5/8" or narrower). Some like 6/8" blades. Some like larger blades (7/8" or larger).
Some like round point, others like Spanish, French, square, spike, etc.
Some like to explore modern razors, including customs. Others like vintage, or even antique razors.
Some like hollow grinds, some like near wedges.
Do not be afraid to try new razors, if your budget permits. If you obtain a razor that you do not enjoy, offer it for sale. Somewhere, someone exists would would enjoy having it.
My collection includes about 25 razors. Some here have many more. I have a variety of manufacturers, ages, grinds, widths, lengths, scales, etc. I have about a three week+ rotation. The only time I use a razor several times in a row is when the edge starts to deteriorate. I will refresh the edge as needed and shave with it until it meets my standards for shave readiness. Then I resume my normal rotation.
Mostly use a Robert Williams or Mongoose SE.
14 razors 2 get used, with a third once in a while and to be honest 1 gets used 75% of the time, that and 1 soap, 2 brushes most of the time. Tc
I have 60+ razors. But i have a handful that i dont use so i guess i rotate thru around 40 or so. Sometimes i might go a few days in a row with one razor but most the time i just grab what i havnt used in a while.
I rotate through about 40 razors, but I have about a dozen that I use a little more frequently than the others. I also enjoy using an SE or a DE from time to time. In general, I enjoy using a variety of products, whether it is soaps, brushes, razors, aftershaves, or colognes.
I have 30 shave ready razors which I rotate as the mood dictates. If I get stuck in a rut I swear I hear from the ones neglected with a "choose me" mantra rising to a fevered pitch. :rofl2: If I don't keep them happy they tend to bite!!!!
My girlfriend thinks I'm nuts, why do you need more than two?
She has a point, but variety is the spice of life so her point is moot
I am down to one for everyday use. It sits on the shelf ready to go. Nothing special about it and although I would be disappointed I wouldn't be mad if I dropped or dinged it, it is a tool for everyday use.
I freely substitute others as my mood or experiments change but it is always there ready to go.
I rotate through my straights but like the rest of my life there is no rhyme or reason behind the order (or lack thereof)
I rotate through 13 with my Feather SS folding shavette.
To help me choose, i have the program on the computer that has all the info on all my razors. One of the colums in this is how many times used between honings. So if i have a hard time picking out what i want that night i go with the lowest used number on the list. Some day im going to have a lot of honing to do.
I have around 150 shave ready straights. Lately I've been sorting them into 7 day sets (7 kamas, 7 filarmonicas, 7 clauss, etc.) and rotating a new group in every week.
I have 5 that I shave with. A couple others just to have. I rotate razor and brush monthly. I rotate through 3 soaps, a different soap each shave.
I rotate all my razors / brushes & soaps in no particular order and then I throw in a a couple of DE's every once in a while.
I have ten in my rotation. I switch them out from time to time, when I get bored.
I also have a few set aside for special occasions. It's nice to have a small stable to draw from.
I can't believe how many razors I've accumulated in a relatively short time frame. It's excessive and I rotate through perhaps a dozen on a consistent basis.
All I have to do is open my bureau and root around to find a razor which I've forgotten about. It's almost like a new find at an antique store, or an eBay win! Lots cheaper as well.
I have 25 razors. I use them all. That's what they're for. No rhyme or reason. Just pick one and get the job done.
I rarely use the same razor twice in a week, except when I did some honing and am not entirely satified with the result.
My usual rotation takes me little over two months, but there are some razors that just don’t appeal to me that much and that are not part of the regular rotation.
